How To Use Crystal Lift

The steel tension ring on the crystal of most other seikos makes the use of a crystal lift very hard indeed.

Hold the crystal lift over the crystal so that the tips of the jaws rest on the top of the metal plates of the base. The only seikos afaik that require a crystal lift are those which have open thru glass on the caseback likeon the attached photo. The crystal should fit inside the watch case but if it doesn t you will need to tighten the lift a little more. Then holding the crystal lift over your watch crystal lower it until the tips of the jaws are hovering at the edge of the crystal where it meets the metal of the watch case. Pick up the crystal lift and crystal then turn it upside down so that the bottom of the crystal is facing up toward the ceiling. Carefully close the jaws until they grip the crystal snuggly. Start by laying the watch case out flat on your work space with the crystal facing up. Next take your crystal lift and open the jaws so that they are wider than your watch crystal.
